| Who is Trig Palin's Mother? | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| We're going to try to collect as much information as we can here, with links to where you can find it | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| This continues with the events after Trig Palin's birth on April 18, 2008 in Wasilla, Alaska. Information about earlier events can be found here and here. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| (The information in the left column is if Sarah is Trig's mother; the right column is if Bristol is the mother) Click on the pictures below to see the source and a larger version |

| If Sarah is the mom, then the story is ... |
If daughter Bristol is the mom, then the story is ... |

| April 18, 2008 (the day of the birth) - Sarah's parents come to Mat-Su hospital to visit the newborn. |

| April 19-21, 2008 (within several days to weeks after the birth) - The sister of Bristol's boyfriend (Sadie) comes to the Palin home to visit the newborn. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

In a public MySpace.com page, a teenager named Sadie (or Mercedes) posted pictures of herself and family members including Levi Johnston, the boyfriend of Bristol. These pictures show Sadie visiting the Palin family at the Palin home just shortly after Trig's birth.
| April 19-21, 2008 (within several days to weeks after the birth) - Sadie (sister of Bristol's boyfriend) holds Trig in a picture Sadie later captions as "Family Love (heart)" |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| This is all very much ado about nothing! Teenagers say lots of exaggerated things between friends. "Family love" simply means the Bristol and Trig are sister and brother, or that Sadie feels like a member of the family, but not that she actually is! | It seems very odd that the sister of Sarah's daughter's boyfriend would be visiting at this time at all ... And why did Sadie call this picture "Family Love"? A logical explanation is that Sadie came to visit so soon because she is related to Trig - Trig is her brother's child, and Sadie is therefore in the same family as Trig and Bristol. Look at the smiles on the faces - is Sadie smiling that broadly because she is holding her brother's child? |

| April 19-21, 2008 (within several days to weeks after the birth) - Sadie calls Trig her "new baby brother" - not her "nephew" |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| If these pictures mean anything, this one shows that Bristol is not the mother. If Trig is Sadie's brother's son, then Trig is her nephew. If he's Sarah's son, then Trig is Sadie's "brother-in-law" (assuming Sadie is affectionately treating Bristol and Levi as "married." ) | ![]() |
OK, this one is a bit of a puzzle, "nephew" would fit better. But Sadie wasn't trying to be precise here ... she called Trig her "baby brother" because he's the son of her actual brother, Levi. Plus, really, why is this relative stranger (the sister of Bristol's boyfriend) holding this very young infant, and using family terms at all to refer to the child? |

| April 19-21, 2008 (within several days to weeks after the birth) - Sarah poses at the Palin home with Sadie and Trig | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Sadie is just showing off that she gets to hold the newborn infant of a celebrity. Plus notice she calls her "Mommy -in-law," that's because Sarah is Trig's mother. Sadie's brother and Bristol are going together, so Sadie adds the affectionate "in-law" |

Why doesn't Sadie say "Trig's Mommy"?
| September 1, 2008 (four-and-a-half months after the birth) - Sarah announces that Bristol is "five months pregnant" |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Doesn't the fact that Bristol is five months pregnant as of September 1, 2008 prove conclusively that Bristol could not have given birth to Trig in mid-April (four-and-a-half months earlier)? | 1) We have no proof that Bristol is pregnant at all - just Sarah's word for it. 2) If Bristol is really pregnant, we have no proof how far along Bristol actually is! Don't forget, you don't have to have actual sex to get pregnant again - if sperm just gets near the exterior entrance of a vagina, that can be good enough for "Irish twins" - a second conception within a month or two after giving birth the first time. |
